BLE: detect nearby assets and indoor zones.

Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices can broadcast small radio signals that nearby receivers detect. Presence, proximity, and precise position are different requirements and need different designs.

When BLE fits

A good fit

An indoor workflow where knowing whether a tagged asset was seen in a room or zone would help.

Needs assessment

Beacon and receiver placement, power, building layout, radio interference, and the zone detail you actually need.

Consider another method

Use NFC for a deliberate tap, RFID for planned bulk reads, or GPS for outdoor position.

From signal to operational record

A beacon can advertise an identifier; a phone or installed receiver can record a sighting. Software may translate those sightings into a zone or alert. Signal strength alone is only a rough proximity cue; finer positioning needs suitable infrastructure and site testing. Specific beacons, gateways, and integrations need confirmation before a proposal.

Explore related approaches

If your main task is counting many tagged items, compare RFID and TUDI Inventaris. Detecting assets by BLE zone would be designed separately.

Discuss BLE for your operation.

Describe the assets, indoor area, zone detail, update frequency, and battery expectations so we can assess the approach.
